A Guide to HGH India for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption. HGH runs across multiple halls with thematic zones, so where you sit within the show shapes the design.
A home-products stand leans on styling, lighting and product-dense but scannable display: hanging and drape systems for textiles, plinths and shelving for houseware and décor, and lighting that shows colour and texture truthfully. Power is sanctioned through the venue's official electrical contractor against a declared load, ordered early to avoid peak-build surcharges. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, finishing is completed off-site, and two-storey builds need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up and dress and style a product-dense home display carefully. And because HGH runs twice a year, storing a core in Mumbai between editions is unusually economical — no long-distance return freight either way.
What a winning home-products stand needs
The stands that win orders at HGH India present a season's collection clearly. We design styled, well-lit display that foregrounds the new collection, keeps a wide range scannable rather than crowded, shows textiles with proper drape and houseware with proper plinth-and-light treatment, and provides comfortable space to sit and write an order.
The show's zoning and trend-forecasting character reward a stand that reads as trend-aware and considered, and its large architect and interior-designer contingent means a purely retail-transactional stand misses part of the audience. We keep the message specific to your category and season — home textiles, carpets, décor, furniture, houseware, gifts — because a chain-store buyer, an e-commerce sourcing manager and an interior designer engage with the same range very differently.
Designing for retailers, distributors and designers
Buyers walk HGH India with seasonal buying budgets, so the stand has to present the collection and then host the order: a styled, trend-led range and clear new-collection signposting, then a conversation about price points, MOQ, margins, delivery windows and trade schemes. We design the path from the collection to that conversation, because at a seasonal sourcing show the presentation earns the interest and the meeting writes the order.
We keep the message specific to the buying season each edition serves — festive for July, summer for December — because a retailer buying for a defined selling window has no use for last season's story, and a correctly seasoned, well-styled range is engaged with far faster than a generic one.
What an HGH India stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at HGH India runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with styled range display and order-writing space, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium island, double-deck or flagship build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number is elaborate styling and room settings, specialist lighting, premium finish or a double-deck lounge. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue with two editions a year, storing and refreshing one core is markedly cheaper than building twice.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for specialist and gift brands to 100 m²-plus islands and double-deckers for major home-textile and houseware houses. The layout leads with the new collection where the aisle sees it, keeps the wider range scannable at browsing pace, and sets comfortable order-writing space. Corner and island positions, well styled and lit, help a brand stand out across a large, visually competitive multi-hall show.
Whatever the size, we style and light to the standard your product implies, because on a home-products floor the styling of the stand is read directly as the taste level of the brand.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and dock schedule, and services book up early for a show of this scale. We confirm your build slot and hall zone, order power and lighting through the venue contractor before the deadline, plan drape systems and styled display, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands dressed, styled and stocked for the first buyer.
Being Mumbai-based, we can style and dress a product-dense home display carefully during build-up in a way an out-of-town builder can't.
Reusing your stand between the July and December editions
HGH's twice-yearly rhythm makes a stored, reusable core exceptionally good value: the same structure serves both the festive and summer editions roughly five months apart, with only graphics, styling and the collection refreshed between them. We store the core in Mumbai — no return freight, since this is our home city — and re-dress it for each season. The same core also serves Heimtextil India, Index Fairs and the wider home circuit.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- Showing a generic catalogue instead of the collection for the season that edition sells into.
- A crowded range a buyer can't scan at browsing pace across a large multi-hall show.
- Building two separate stands for the July and December editions instead of storing and re-dressing one core.
- No comfortable space to sit and write a seasonal order.
