A Guide to IAAPI Amusement Expo for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, and for a ride or a tall attraction the allocated hall's height envelope is decisive, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption.
Amusement equipment is heavy, tall and often moving, so floor loading, height and safety are the first calculations: we plan positions, base plates and load spread to the venue's limits, check the height envelope for rides and attractions, design safe guarding and queuing circulation around anything that operates, and coordinate the forklift and rigging. Power is ordered against a declared load through the official contractor ahead of the deadline; all materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in; finishing is completed off-site; and two-storey or complex structures need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up and commission and safety-check a working ride or game carefully — a genuine cost and reliability edge when equipment has to run in front of the public.
What a winning amusement stand needs
The stands that win orders at IAAPI let buyers play. We design a safe, well-lit area where rides, games and attractions actually operate, with proper guarding and queuing circulation, clear economics messaging — throughput, footprint, revenue per square foot, payback — and a meeting area for the capital-purchase conversation. Playability earns the crowd, and a crowd on your stand is itself the proof an operator is looking for.
We keep the message specific to your segment — rides, arcade and redemption, water park, soft play, FEC fit-out — because a large park and a mall FEC buy on different footprints and economics, and a playable, numbers-backed proposition lands far harder than a general 'amusement solutions' one.
Designing for park owners, FEC operators and developers
Buyers walk IAAPI with capital-equipment decisions for real parks and centres, so the stand has to let them experience the product and then talk numbers: a working, playable ride or game, then a conversation about footprint, throughput, revenue, maintenance, spares and payback. We design the path from the play to that conversation, because at a capital-purchase show the experience earns the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to your buyer, because a water park, a resort and a mall FEC assess differently, and a precise, economics-led capability statement is engaged with far faster than a general one.
What an IAAPI Amusement Expo stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at the IAAPI Amusement Expo runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with playable equipment and a meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium raw-space, tall-attraction or multi-ride build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor space outside it.
What moves the number is heavy or tall ride floor loading and height, a live operating attraction with its power, guarding and queuing space, or a large raw-space build. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for game, spares and software suppliers up to 100 m²-plus raw-space builds carrying operating rides for major manufacturers. The layout puts the playable equipment where the aisle sees it, plans guarding and queuing so a crowd doesn't block the aisle, and sets a meeting area slightly back and quiet enough to talk. Corner and island positions help a working ride be seen and approached.
Whatever the size, we design the operating equipment to run safely and look exciting, because on an amusement floor a working, safely guarded, well-lit attraction is the quality signal an operator reads before any conversation starts.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and dock schedule, and power and handling book up early. We confirm your build slot, order power through the venue contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading, the height envelope and the forklift schedule for ride move-in, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands and the equipment is set, guarded, commissioned and safety-checked in good time.
Being Mumbai-based, we can commission and safety-check operating rides and games carefully during build-up rather than against a long freight's clock — which matters when the equipment carries the public.
Reusing your stand between editions
Amusement brands exhibit at IAAPI and the regional leisure and hospitality circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand designed around your equipment footprints is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and the equipment line-up for each edition, and keep your power and handling orders on file — so the next edition is a refresh and a re-set of the rides, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- A static ride or game on a floor where playability wins the order.
- A crowd around the attraction that blocks the aisle because queuing wasn't designed in.
- Operating equipment with no safety guarding — a hazard and a credibility risk.
- Fun with no economics: no throughput, footprint or payback numbers for a capital buyer.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
