A Guide to India International Dairy Expo (IDE) for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption.
Dairy processing equipment can be heavy and may involve liquids; ingredient sampling needs hygiene and refrigeration. So floor loading, any water or drainage and a declared electrical load (including refrigeration) are planned in early, ordered through the official contractor ahead of the deadline. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, finishing is completed off-site, and two-storey builds need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up — a genuine cost and reliability edge, and useful when heavy equipment or a clean sampling area needs careful, safe setup.
What a winning dairy stand needs
The stands that win at IDE display the equipment or product well and make the engineering or quality legible. For equipment brands, we design clean, well-lit machinery display with safe mounting, clear signage on capacity, efficiency and standards, and a demonstration where useful; for ingredient and product brands, we design a hygienic sampling area and strong product display with certifications visible. A meeting area lets a processor or cooperative talk a plant or supply.
Hygiene, efficiency and food safety are decisive for this audience, so we give those prominent placement, and keep the message specific so a dairy buyer grasps your capability or product before they reach you.
Designing for dairy processors, cooperatives and equipment buyers
Buyers walk IDE with plant projects, capacity needs and sourcing lists, so the stand has to qualify them fast and then talk specifics: a clear equipment or product message, a demonstration or tasting, then a conversation about specification, capacity, food safety, price and lead time. We design the path from the display to that conversation, because at a project- and supply-driven show the proof earns the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to your domain — processing, packaging, refrigeration, ingredients, testing, farm equipment — because a plant-equipment buyer and an ingredient buyer want different proof, and a precise capability-or-product statement is found far faster than a general 'dairy solutions' one.
What an India Dairy Expo stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at IDE runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with equipment or sampling display and a meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium island, double-deck or heavy-equipment build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number is heavy equipment floor loading and any water or drainage, a food-safe sampling area with refrigeration, meeting-room enclosure, or a double-deck lounge. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for ingredient, testing and component suppliers to 100 m²-plus islands and double-deckers for major processing, packaging and equipment houses. The layout puts equipment or product where the aisle sees it, plans safe mounting or hygienic sampling, and keeps a meeting area for the project conversation. Corner and island positions help on a busy, project-focused floor.
Whatever the size, we present and light equipment or product cleanly, because well-presented, hygienic-looking equipment or product on a clean stand is the quality signal a dairy buyer reads before any conversation starts.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and dock schedule, and services book up early. We confirm your build slot, order power, any water/drainage and refrigeration load through the venue contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading and safe mounting for heavy equipment, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand and its equipment or sampling area land set and ready for the first buyer.
Being Mumbai-based, we can set heavy equipment and clean sampling areas safely during build-up in a way an out-of-town builder can't.
Reusing your stand between editions
Dairy brands exhibit at IDE and the regional dairy and food-processing circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand with re-deployable equipment or sampling display is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and display for each edition, and keep your power, water and handling orders on file — so the next show is a refresh, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- Under-planning floor loading, water or refrigeration for heavy or wet equipment and sampling.
- Generic 'dairy solutions' messaging with no capacity, efficiency or food-safety cues.
- No meeting area on a project-driven floor.
- A sampling area that isn't hygienic on a food-safety-conscious floor.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
