A Guide to India Mobile Congress (IMC) for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka: the rules that shape your stand
Yashobhoomi (IICC) is one of India's largest and most modern convention venues — generous height, high-capacity halls and strict access discipline near the Delhi airport. Its scale suits large experiential builds and double-deckers; anything two-storey or a complex structure needs a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer, submitted ahead of the show.
IMC stands are AV- and power-heavy: screen walls, LED, interactive kiosks and live demos draw significant load, so we calculate and order power through the official electrical contractor early — late orders attract peak-build surcharges — and we plan data and connectivity for the demos. Rigging for screens and lighting, where permitted, goes through the appointed agency; all materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in; finishing is completed off-site.
Delhi logistics are tight in the October window. Freight runs roughly 1,400 km by road from our Mumbai facility, so crating and convoy timing decide your build week; we schedule to land the stand inside its access window rather than queue in the marshalling yard.
What a winning telecom and tech stand needs
The stands that win at IMC make the technology tangible. We design immersive zones with screen walls, interactive demos and clean, well-lit display, engineered for the AV and connectivity loads they carry, plus a protected meeting area for enterprise and policy conversations away from the public buzz. The build quality has to match a premium tech brand — this is a high-production-value floor, and a cheap-looking stand undercuts an innovation message.
Because ministers, press and large public crowds move this floor, we plan the protocol and the demo flow: a reception point and branded backdrop for the visits that get photographed, a clear demo journey for the public, and a quieter zone where an enterprise buyer can actually talk.
Designing for operators, enterprises and policymakers
IMC's audience splits: enterprise and operator buyers want a serious conversation about deployment, integration and cost; the public and press want an experience; ministers and government want a showcase. We design a stand that serves all three — an experiential front that demonstrates the technology, and a protected back for the enterprise and policy meetings — because at IMC the brand value and the pipeline both matter.
We keep the message specific to your domain — network infrastructure, devices, satcom, AI, enterprise solutions — because an operator buyer and an enterprise CIO are scanning for different proof, and a precise, working demonstration lands far harder than a general 'digital transformation' panel.
What an IMC stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at IMC runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with a demo zone and meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium experiential, screen-wall or double-deck build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, road freight to Delhi, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number on a tech floor is AV and screen-wall scale, interactive demos and connectivity, and a double-deck or large experiential build — IMC stands carry more AV than most shows. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out, which sit inside the turnkey figure.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for startups and component players to 100 m²-plus experiential islands and double-deckers for operators and OEMs. The layout balances an open, demo-led front with a protected meeting zone, and on an AV-heavy floor we plan cable management, heat and connectivity into the design. Corner and island positions help an experiential build be seen across a busy, high-footfall floor.
Whatever the size, we build and finish to a premium-tech standard and light it well, because on an innovation floor the production value of the stand is read as a proxy for the quality of the technology.
Getting into Yashobhoomi: build-up timing
Yashobhoomi runs a tight, security-conscious build-up in the October window, and power, rigging and AV slots book up early. We confirm your build slot, calculate and order the heavy AV and power load through the official contractor before the deadline, plan rigging and connectivity for screens and demos, and time the Mumbai-to-Delhi freight so the stand lands inside its access window — built, dressed and demo-ready for the first day.
Because an experiential build adds AV commissioning on top of the stand, we plan extra demo-test time into the schedule rather than leaving it to opening morning.
Reusing your stand between editions
Tech brands exhibit at IMC, MWC and the global tech circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand with re-deployable AV and demo fixtures is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics, demo content and screen layouts for each edition, and keep your AV, power and connectivity orders on file — so the next show is a refresh, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- A static, slides-only stand on a floor where the public and press expect working technology.
- Under-ordering AV and power load and scrambling for capacity on build day.
- No quiet enterprise zone, so serious deployment conversations compete with the public buzz.
- Leaving AV commissioning to opening morning instead of scheduling demo-test time.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
