A Guide to Inter FoodTech for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption. Because Inter FoodTech runs concurrently with Snack & BakeTec and Pac MechEx, the build-up and marshalling schedule is a shared and busy one.
Processing and packaging machinery is heavy, and a live demo that runs actual product adds hygiene and waste-handling requirements on top: floor loading, three-phase power against a declared load, food-grade surfaces where product is handled, and a plan for cleaning and waste. We plan machine positions, base plates and load spread to the venue's limits and coordinate the forklift and rigging. Power is ordered through the official contractor ahead of the deadline; all materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in; finishing is completed off-site.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast in a shared, busy build-up and commission and clean a running food machine carefully before the first buyer arrives.
What a winning food-processing stand needs
The stands that win orders at Inter FoodTech run the machine cleanly and show the line. We design a stable, well-lit machine platform where a processing, bakery or packaging machine can run — with the floor loading, three-phase power and food-grade hygiene it needs if product is handled — clear throughput, changeover-time and wastage data, sample product where relevant, and a meeting area for the capital conversation.
Hygiene design is itself a selling point in food machinery, so a visibly clean, well-maintained demo signals exactly what the buyer is assessing. We keep the message specific to your domain — processing, bakery, snack, filling, packaging, hygiene equipment — because a large processor and a craft bakery assess differently, and a demonstrable, quantified proposition lands far harder than a general 'food technology' one.
Designing for manufacturers, processors and production engineers
Buyers walk Inter FoodTech with capital-equipment decisions for real production lines, so the stand has to prove the machine and then talk numbers: a running demonstration and, ideally, sample product, then a conversation about throughput, hygiene and cleaning, changeover time, wastage, integration and payback. We design the path from the running machine to that conversation, because at a processing show the working, clean machine earns the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to your line and product, because a beverage filler and a snack fryer want different proof, and a precise, quantified capability statement is found far faster than a general one — especially when the buyer is walking three concurrent fairs.
What an Inter FoodTech stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at Inter FoodTech runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with a running machine platform and a meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium raw-space or multi-machine build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor space outside it.
What moves the number is heavy machine floor loading and rigging, a live demo that runs actual product with its hygiene, cleaning and waste handling, or a large multi-machine raw-space build. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for component, ingredient and software suppliers up to 100 m²-plus raw-space builds carrying running production lines for major machinery houses. The layout puts the running machine where the aisle sees it, keeps safe, clean circulation around operating equipment, and sets a meeting area slightly back. Corner and island positions help a working line be seen across a busy three-fair hall.
Whatever the size, we set and light the machine to show hygiene and engineering quality, because on a food-processing floor a visibly clean, well-running machine is the quality signal a manufacturer reads before any conversation starts.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The shared Inter FoodTech / Snack & BakeTec / Pac MechEx build-up runs a tight, busy dock and marshalling schedule, and power and handling book up early. We confirm your build slot, calculate and order three-phase power through the official contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading and the forklift schedule for machine move-in, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands and the machine is set, commissioned and cleaned in good time.
Being Mumbai-based, we can commission and deep-clean a running food machine carefully inside a busy shared build-up in a way an out-of-town builder can't.
Reusing your stand between editions
Food-machinery brands exhibit at Inter FoodTech, ProPak, PackPlus and the regional processing circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand designed around your machine footprints is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and throughput data for each edition, and keep your power and handling orders on file — so the next show is a refresh and a re-set of the machines, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- A static machine on a floor where a running line wins the order.
- A food demo with no cleaning, hygiene or waste plan — the opposite of what the buyer is buying.
- Under-planning floor loading or three-phase power for heavy processing machinery.
- Generic messaging with no throughput, changeover or wastage numbers, on a floor where buyers walk three concurrent fairs.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
