A Guide to Kids India for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC: the rules that shape your stand
The Jio World Convention Centre is a modern, premium venue in BKC with high finish expectations and its own access, technical and rigging discipline. Hall configurations are specific to the venue, so we design to the allocated space and its rules — and to a finish standard higher than a general exhibition hall, which suits a category where packaging and presentation carry the brand.
A toy stand has particular needs: bright, even, colour-true lighting so products read as they will on shelf, robust display that survives constant handling across three days, safe and easily supervised play or demonstration areas, and secure storage for stock and samples. Power is sanctioned through the venue's official electrical contractor against a declared load, ordered early to avoid peak-build surcharges. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, and finishing is completed off-site.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from BKC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up and dress a product-dense, brightly lit toy display carefully — a genuine cost and reliability edge at a premium venue.
What a winning toy and kids-products stand needs
The stands that win listings at Kids India put the product in the buyer's hands. We design bright, colour-true, well-organised display where the range is scannable, hands-on access so a buyer can handle and operate the product, a safe demonstration or play area where the category calls for it, prominent safety-standard and certification marks, and a comfortable meeting area for the listing and margin conversation.
Display robustness matters more here than on most floors — product gets handled constantly over three days, so we specify fixtures that survive it. And we keep the message specific to your category — preschool, STEM, licensed, outdoor, juvenile products, sports goods — because a large-format retailer and an e-commerce buyer source differently, and a clear, play-demonstrated, safety-credentialled range lands far harder than a general 'toys' one.
Designing for retailers, distributors and e-commerce buyers
Buyers walk Kids India with stocking, range and listing mandates, so the stand has to demonstrate the product and then host the negotiation: hands-on play and visible safety compliance, then a conversation about price points, MOQ, margins, packaging and distribution terms. We design the path from the play to that conversation, because at a retail sourcing show the product experience earns the interest and the meeting earns the listing.
We keep the message specific to your channel, because a toy specialist, a large-format retailer and an online marketplace buyer want different proof, and a precise, margin-aware, safety-backed range presentation is engaged with far faster than a generic one.
What a Kids India stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at Kids India runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with hands-on display, a play or demo area and meeting space, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium island or flagship build. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number is an elaborate play or demonstration area, robust high-handling display fixtures, premium finish to the venue's standard, or a large flagship build. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for single-brand and specialist suppliers to 100 m²-plus islands and flagships for major toy houses and distributors. The layout leads with a bright, playable product moment where the aisle sees it, keeps the range scannable and handleable, places safety marks where buyers look for them, and sets a meeting area for the listing conversation. Corner and island positions, brightly lit, help a brand stand out on a colourful, competitive floor.
Whatever the size, we light product colour-true and build display robust enough for three days of handling, because on a toy floor a well-presented, working, handleable product is the quality signal a retail buyer reads before any conversation starts.
Getting into the Jio World Convention Centre: build-up timing
The venue runs a tight, premium build-up schedule, and services book up early. We confirm your build slot, order power and lighting through the venue contractor before the deadline, plan the play or demo area and secure stock storage, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands dressed, lit and stocked, ready for the first buyer.
Being Mumbai-based, we can dress a product-dense toy display and set a safe play area carefully during build-up in a way an out-of-town builder can't.
Reusing your stand between editions
Toy and children's-product brands exhibit at Kids India, the Toy Biz International B2B Expo and the regional retail and licensing circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand with re-deployable display and play fixtures is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and the range display for each edition, and keep your contractor orders on file — so the next edition is a refresh, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- A look-only display on a floor where handling and play decide the listing.
- Flimsy fixtures that look worn by day three of constant handling.
- Warm or uneven lighting that misrepresents how product will read on shelf.
- Burying safety-standard compliance that a retail buyer checks before margins.
