A Guide to Media Expo for First-Time Exhibitors
Building at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon: the rules that shape your stand
The BEC (NESCO) is Mumbai's principal venue — a multi-hall complex on the Western Express Highway with its own access and marshalling discipline. Hall heights and column grids vary by hall, so we design to the specific hall rather than a generic assumption.
Printing machinery is heavy and runs live, and LED and displays draw significant load, so floor loading and a declared electrical load (and connectivity) are planned in early, ordered through the official contractor ahead of the deadline. All materials are FR-treated with certificate and fire NOC filed before move-in, finishing is completed off-site, and two-storey builds need a structural-stability certificate from a licensed engineer.
The home-ground advantage is real: our workshop is minutes from the BEC, so there is no long road freight, crating is shorter, and we can react fast during build-up — a genuine cost and reliability edge, and useful when running print equipment and displays need careful setup and testing.
What a winning signage and print stand needs
The stands that win at Media Expo put the output first. We design a stable, well-serviced platform for printers and an LED or display wall that shows your output at its best, with safe sightlines so a buyer can watch a printer run and a screen perform, clear signage on quality, speed and capability, and a meeting area for the buying conversation. Where a printer runs live, we design in the power, connectivity, material handling and safety it needs.
Output quality has to read instantly: a sign-maker or printer judges your machine by the print or display in front of them, so we present the output beautifully and lit well, and keep the message specific so a buyer grasps the capability quickly.
Designing for sign-makers, printers and advertising buyers
Buyers walk Media Expo with equipment and project decisions, so the stand has to demonstrate output and then host the conversation: a running printer or display showing quality and speed, then a conversation about specification, throughput, materials, financing and service. We design the path from the running equipment to that conversation, because at an output-driven show the demonstration earns the meeting and the meeting earns the order.
We keep the message specific to your segment — wide-format, digital, LED, signage materials, inks — because a print-shop buyer and an OOH/display buyer want different proof, and a precise capability statement is found far faster than a general 'signage solutions' one.
What a Media Expo stand costs
A turnkey SOL stand at Media Expo runs from ₹1.8 lakh for a focused 9–18 m² Essential presence, from ₹4.5 lakh for a 24–48 m² Regular build with an equipment or display platform and a meeting area, and from ₹12 lakh for a 50–100 m²-plus Premium build with multiple machines, an LED wall and a hospitality area. The figure is all-inclusive — design, fabrication, graphics, lighting, delivery within Mumbai, install, dismantle and the venue paperwork — with only the organiser's floor rental outside it.
What moves the number is printing-machinery floor loading and live running, LED-wall scale and connectivity, or a double-deck lounge. What you do not pay extra for is flooring, material handling and electrical fit-out — and because this is our home venue, you also save the freight an out-of-Mumbai builder would add.
Stand sizes and layouts
Stands run from compact 9–18 m² spaces for materials, inks and accessory suppliers up to 100 m²-plus builds carrying printers and LED walls for major equipment brands. The layout puts the running printer or display where the aisle sees it, keeps safe circulation around equipment, and sets a meeting area slightly back. Corner and island positions help equipment and a display wall be seen on a busy floor.
Whatever the size, we light and present the output and equipment to show quality, because on an output-driven floor the print and display quality on your stand are read directly as the quality of your machine.
Getting into the BEC: build-up timing
The BEC runs a tight build-up and dock schedule, and power, connectivity and handling book up early. We confirm your build slot, order power and connectivity through the venue contractor before the deadline, plan floor loading and the forklift schedule for printer move-in, and — because we're local — schedule a short, reliable delivery so the stand lands and the equipment and displays are set and tested in good time.
Being Mumbai-based, we can commission and test running equipment and displays without the time pressure a long freight would add.
Reusing your stand between editions
Signage and print brands exhibit at the Mumbai and Delhi editions of Media Expo and the regional print circuit across the year, so a modular reusable stand designed around your equipment footprints is strong value. We store the core in Mumbai, refresh graphics and display for each edition, and keep your power, connectivity and handling orders on file — so the next show is a refresh and a re-set of the equipment, not a rebuild.
Common mistakes, in order of frequency
- A static stand on a floor where buyers judge the machine by live output.
- Under-planning floor loading or power for running printers and LED.
- Poorly presented or badly lit output that undersells print and display quality.
- Generic 'signage solutions' messaging that hides the equipment's capability and speed.
Getting Started
Send your stand size, your hall and stand number once the organiser has issued it, and a short note on what will physically happen on the stand. You get a 3D design and an itemised all-in quote, at no charge and with no obligation.
